Doctors suspect hydroxychloroquine+Azythromicin might work best if taken before infection, or early on. But I'll bet the drug trials are only for patients with more advanced infections. My logic here is that it would be the dumbest thing we could do, so. . . probably.

It has pronounced Cardiotoxicity so all countries require prescription. But risk in general is quite lawbfor mass prophylaxis.

I’ve had it (antibiotic + HCQ) many times in the past , whenever doc suspected malaria, i.e fever with lots of shivering. No bad effects on me. Sample size small (me).

The risk is not low for everyone. You can buy lots of RX drugs OTC in many countries, doesn’t make it safe.

Alcohol is not safe, pot is not safe, raw or under cooked meat is not safe, vegetables are not safe. How many people die from listeria from vegetables? Everything is a risk when you live in a world where people will eat tide pods and fish tank cleaner.
