Doctors don’t know economics. Economists don’t know pandemics. @realDonaldTrump will be making our most important executive decision since the Civil War based mostly on his gut instinct, because advisors will not agree. I’m 100% okay with that.https://twitter.com/mahoneinthezone/status/1243665653787234307 …

Yeah but my dad would have died fighting in Japan.

Thinking about that, my simulation would have never happened.

It was wrong to drop those two bombs. Do not forget that the only person to ever drop 2 nuclear bombs *on purpose to kill innocent women & children* was a Democrat. Rs have been indoctrinated by the Left to believe it was “necessary” to win the war (only bc it was a D who did it)

I'd say that applies to both the A-bomb decision and the current situation. The issue isn't winning but at what cost. The A-bomb allowed us to shift the primarily on Japan, though to its benefit in the long term since going the invasion route would had a far greater cost to them.

A substantial portion of the young men who created the Japan of today would have died along with so many others. The cost in lives for the US would have made things like the Marshall Plan far harder to sell.

But with far more US/ally casualties.

And Japanese. It would have been a blood bath.

I gotta go with these A-bomb being the better comparison. The coronavirus will be stopped and the US economy will recover no matter the decision. The question becomes cost. Just as it was with the A-bomb.
