An opinion without death estimates under both scenarios is not a full opinion. Even if estimates are hard to make.

Yes. What is the effective death toll of 20% unemployment? What is the toll from the loss of each billion in GDP?

Multivariate analysis. We needed that, and got a single variable at 100 and everything else 0.

The “We are doing too much” position without target death stats is the coward’s contrary position and the easiest, yet slimiest, route one can take. Contrary takes should all start: “If left unchecked I think corona will kill x number of people. Therefore we should...”

Why do only those who question if we might be overreacting have the burden? How about “If the current economic shutdown is left unchecked, what’s an acceptable umployment rate, poverty rate, and loss of life in a depression?” Maybe I missed it but I haven’t seen this answer.

Right; no one is calculating the deaths, illnesses--including mental, and other adverse impacts of the near national shutdown. Nothing about any of this, from any side, is making any sense given the lack of any reliable statistics.

And we need an overlay of normal death rates with some std dev bars

You also need to have the public opinion on your side and can't just force them to work unprotected.
