In an emergency situation, can healthy volunteers agree to intentional infection in clinical setting to test vaccines and perhaps treatments? Speeds the efficacy answer to two weeks. Safety testing miiiiight be streamlinable but I don’t know how. #coronavirus

It is unlikely I’m the first person to think of this, obviously. But it might mean Trump knows more than he can tell us about the potential speed of a vaccine.

I like it--you could ask for young volunteers who are at minimal risk. I would assume the vaccine would be safe from some sort of mutation that would be worse than the disease itself.

It is not unethical at all. It is done quite often. People get paid for it.https://volresearch.com/

Can't we use the prison population? Calm down, not ALL of them...just the ones on death row

It is not unethical if you pay, plus people would volunteer. This means that you will at worst get seriously ill with
#COVID19 in fully controlled setting, with doctors monitoring you 24/7. Which is preferable to getting it "naturally" in 3 weeks when hospitals are overwhelmed. -
But you have to understand that in such early trials (where people are seriously paid to volunteer) sometimes there IS disastrous outcome. https://www.outsourcing-pharma.com/Article/2007/01/29/Northwick-trial-tragedy-scientists-reveal-how-cytokine-storm-started … There IS reason they are paid!

Wouldn't China have already done this testing on their indentured people? They should share their findings.
