There are at least two separate timelines for new drugs. 1) Time to determine efficacy: does it work? 2) Time to manufacture at scale: how to make 10X? Usually you get approval, then scale. But we could parallel process to save time, with possible waste. https://drug-dev.com/scale-up-manufacturing-smart-formulation-processing-engineering-solutions-to-solve-drug-product-scale-up-manufacturing-challenges-with-minimum-to-no-regulatory-impact/ …pic.twitter.com/GsZ5YeEeqz

Put another way: we might just start mass producing everything that *could* work, now. Then under expanded right-to-try laws, a patient could use it once safety was established, or wait for whatever efficacy threshold they (or their state regulator) found convincing.

Why not take all of them at once? Do the different approaches interfere?

Yes, there might be drug to drug and drug to condition/allergy interaction, which might make the cocktail of all/more than one approach dangerous

Several of the currently trialled drugs would interfere with each other in potentially unexpected ways. For example Kaletra inteferes with the metabolism of ¬30% of all drugs.

My fear is that alot of Paul Ryan Republicans in the administration (who are happy to oversupply the Afghan Army) simply cannot conceive of the Federal government "disrupting normal markets" for medical equipment like ventilators. "But what if they're not used! The waste!" Ugh.
