I don't know who needs to hear this, but panic buying is a feedback loop.
Shortage of supply
Fear of lack of supply
The power and water grids aren't going down.
Farms and food supply chains aren't shutting down.
COVID-19 isn't a zombie apocalypse.

While local shortages may exist temporarily, we live in the age of the internet and same day shipping. You'd need more than localized panic to have real problems.
-
Also most disposable paper goods are still sourced and manufactured in the US.

Use water like those without toilet paper do on a daily basis.

You have a free bidet with free same day installation to help this guy out? If no, you're not helpful.

Except we don’t have to only use TP to wipe our butts. People would be stupid to overpay for something like a roll of TP when there are countless other items that can be used.
-
TPP (toilet paper panic) is caused by a helpless fear of societal breakdown, they're paying for security in the form of a symbol of (western) civilization. Ironically, in a real SHTF scenario, TP is one of the least important preps. These people aren't preppers, they're poopers.

I’m investing in disposable wipes- take up less space and people will pay more for them.

I believe one of the health guidelines was to stop re-using toilet paper. That may explain the increased demand.
