Face masks don't work, so please stop hoarding them or else medical professionals will not have access to the stuff that doesn't work.

Don’t loserthink this Scott. I love your stuff. N95 that has been fit tested protects the wearer. The standard masks only partially obstruct the wearer’s coughs and sneezes from spraying droplets and confer zero protection to the wearer.

I got your point. Was silly for them to say they will not offer protection.

I think the idea is that the mask is most effective near the source of infection. The same way you’re more likely to reduce the spray of a spray bottle by the nozzle than you are 5ft back.

I worked in senior care for years. Every winter we would lose 10 - 20 residents d/t flu and pneumonia. EVERY YEAR. Most residents have already chosen not to be hospitalized if they should get sick and if they are incapable of making that decision their family members do.
-
They may get treated with antibiotics or breathing treatments but past that point nothing else. My last place was private pay and these folks had money and good care. This many deaths is not unusual during flu season. And it always spread. No panic or outrage though.
