What do China, Iran, South Korea, and Italy have in common besides the worst #Coronavirus outbreaks? They also have the worst air quality. Does pollution carry an airborne virus farther?

China got its infection rate under control (allegedly) at the same time the pollution cleared because traffic stopped.

And travelers to polluted cities got sick too. Presumably they were not there long enough to have weakened lungs from pollution.

Let’s see if any clean-air cities have widespread outbreaks. That might tell us something.

Some say vitamin D helps ward off viruses. Does pollution lower your Vitamin D?

coron-19 attacks ACE2 proteins. In polluted air ACE2 is impeded leading to inflammation in the lungs...someone help me interpret this article? Is there causality?https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.researchgate.net/figure/Change-in-ACE-and-ACE2-expressions-in-the-lungs-of-mice-after-PM25-treatment-The_fig8_323260104/amp …

I thought maybe the pollution could increase amount of ACE2 in the lungs, or aid the rate covid-19 spreads. The lungs already inflamed from pollution is probably a bad thing. Can anyone confirm or locate a research article?

Smoking is widely accepted in those countries. Not sure of Italy. But definitely China and South Korea. If you look at Taiwan where there is a wide ban on smoking a while back; is minimally impacted by the virus.

And Taiwanese have most invested in China. Technically the virus should reach Taiwan and affect Taiwan faster than South Korea and other Asian countries. But so far its not.
