@ScottAdamsSays, you might find this interesting. Climate change is a high priority to the democratic base, but it appears to be an extremely low-priority issue for most Americans. According to Pew research, 17th place out of 18.https://www.climatedepot.com/2020/02/11/pew-research-2019-survey-climate-change-still-ranks-as-low-priority-17th-place-out-of-18th/ …

Somewhat similar to when the political left "framed" the healthcare debate (back in the 90s) as being between Universal H/C & "current" free-market system. The political right bought into that false premise even tho we hadn't had a mainly free-market H/C system since early 60s.

Back to Pew, Americans do not care...

Good morning, ledtear. It's deeper than that though. Trump/Republican's overall "brand" (how they're seen/understood) is that they're uncaring. So unnecessary. In terms of persuasion they could do a much better job of framing issues rather than arguing from the other's frame.

Climate denial is part of his brand profile. If he cheers companies for taking the lead, he tarnishes his brand. This is a weakness he has to own. Along with healthcare, infrastructure, immigration, race relations, justice reform, and trade policy.

Good morning, Judy. With all respect, I disagree with you regarding what you feel would result if he cheered private sector companies for coming up with solutions. Neither do I agree with your second paragraph. These are very easily reframed.

I wonder if Trump's not all-in on nuclear, is due to his support for the oil and gas block. I sense he'll go big on Nuclear in his second term.
