"Changing topic" could also be a sign that someone is simply repeating a talking point. They might *believe* the talking point, but the have no reason for doing so. That's not really lying.

The brainwashed also employ post moving as they ruminate through preprogrammed list of beliefs. Usually only 1 or 2 rounds.
But brainwashed will typically respond more rudely, get more emotional (crazy). So Scott is correct, there is overlap, but these are the main indicators.
