This is why the "Climate Crisis," to the extent it is real, will not be solved by negative actions (reducing the standard of living), but by positive actions (new technology to mitigate negative effects), just like the human race has always done.

This is exactly right. Freakonomics made this point about NYC in the early 1900s. Their ‘carbon’ was horseshit, too much was piling up creating a health hazard. They almost passed laws limiting the use of horses, but then the auto came along.
