Being worried that automation and AI will hurt society is like being worried in 1440 that the printing press would hurt society and cause mass unemployment of scribes

Indeed, In the 1970's... AI was called "the copy machine" Robots were called "women" The Andrew Yang'ian question of that era was “what will happen when women join the workforce, but automation destroys their jobs?” And now, Space Force will create millions of new jobs..pic.twitter.com/qqMA3MUJse

#SpaceForce = Million of new jobs = Space-based internet, in-space transportation, in-space propellant manufacture, lunar and asteroid mining, space-based solar power-beaming, orbital and lunar tourism.

Adding that I did forensics on both the bearish assessment Yang espouses, in this thread, and in the next thread, the taxing regime (VAT/GST) he expects will fund his schemahttps://twitter.com/adamscrabble/status/1097341530816331777 …

Thread. I'm gonna make you a pundit killer. When they talk platitudes, you can stop 'em, they'll have no place to hide. Let's begin... Taxes, Robots & Universal Basic Income. As robots cherry-pick the jobs of high-cost human workers, robot employers profits will soar. Then what? pic.twitter.com/Aqtxkvtz1v

Counterpoint: Confusopolies will mean robots do not drive profits to zero. Marketing will save us from robot collapse.

Agreed, I wanted to begin the thread with a bearish sentiment as expressed by Yang. I had a wonderful dinner with Yang early this year, smart guy, very wrong.

We are entering an era of ultra-customization and super high quality. Every one will get custom fit sneakers, chairs... Home decor as additive manufacturing increases adaptation. Old trend = efficiency of mass production. New trend = femtoMarkets
