You know, if somebody says “all Nazis are bad, but some of these Nazis were good”, that kind of makes their statement of them being bad completely meaningless.

He said there were fine people on both sides. He said that the sides he was referring to were the side with a permit and the side without one. The side with a permit was a white supremacist rally. Therefore, he was saying that there were fine people on the side of the rally.

Incorrect. The “bad people on both sides” quote was about the racists versus Antifa. The “fine people” quote he specified in direct language excluded the permit/racist people
