Is it okay for POTUS to pressure the Ukrainian president to require announcement of investigations of the family of his political rival and threatening to withhold security assistance and a meeting with Trump? Because that is what Taylor has described.

Yes, completely acceptable because the American public needed to know what was up with the guy polling at the top to be next president. But transcripts say Ukraine wasn't aware of any quid pro quo, so it never happened in the real world.

One single out only one corruption case specifically? Just for personal political gain.

Security assistance WAS withheld unnecessarily for a month. It will be known that Ukrainians died for this QPQ, which was based on a pointless investigation for political dirt. If Trump gives a damn about corruption, he would do well to look at his own inner circle.

exactly why is the quid pro quo inherently negative? as a US businessperson, there are many regulations that tell me how I can interact in businesses with other nations. for me, having some confidence our partners adhere to standards is expected and often required.

Wouldn’t the American people want the government to hold back money to a foreign country if they do not co-operate in a corruption case? Answer the question, assuming we are not talking about Joe Biden?

Biden isn't some protected personage just because he is running for office. Biden is part and parcel of the garbage that went on in the run-up to the 2016 election but there are bigger fishes in that sea of crap than Biden, the pufferfish.

Ukraine saying they're unaware of quid pro quo doesn't mean much. If Zelensky indeed felt like there was any quid pro quo it would be difficult for him to both admit it and get the military aid that he needs to defend his country.

There wasn't a quid pro quo. There was no exchange of anything for their aid. Even though it would be totally normal for there to be when those claiming to be anti corruption are actually corrupt themselves. The Bidens are corrupt and so is that AntAC organization funded by Soros
