Changing bad data to other bad data is bad. Is there a case against changing bad data to accurate data? Obviously you need to start over on the experiment, which I assume to be obvious.

@ScottAdamsSays it would be fine to revert to the raw written records from the stations. They're records of a temp at a specific place & time. But there is no credible way of adjusting records later (especially decades later). Parallel contemporaneous records necessary.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

We are not talking about simple transcription errors. We are talking about a series of alterations of US temp. records after year 2000 when science was long "settled".

Even if adjustments were correct (hahaha), it shows that measurement error alone has same magnitude as signal to be detected. Hence no significance.
