still twisting yourself into pretzels to support Trump, I see. what about questioning a candidate on whether he/she committed $400M in inheritance tax fraud, will release their tax returns even if they're under some mysterious never-ending audit, & gets loans from Russian banks?

Totally reasonable to ask for tax returns. And it would be monumentally stupid to provide them to the ignorant press who would (of course) misinterpret them by accident or intention. Sometimes both sides are right.

I'm thinking if the IRS has filed no charges, there ARE no charges to file.

the IRS wouldn't file charges if Trump is beholden to Russia by virtue of them co-signing his loans. Also, should this be the new precedent, that presidential candidates & presidents don't release their tax returns? just to protect a con-man?

it wouldn't be a violation of the tax code for Russia to have leverage on Trump. it would however be a risk to national security. Trump's tax returns could reveal if Trump was funded by Russian oligarchs.

And "if" he killed a hobo and buried him under Trump Tower, that "could" be a crime. If the law ever requires a president to show tax returns, I will support it.

analogies are great at showing people when they're being inconsistent. example: GOP guy: welfare makes people slaves. me: Israel has welfare. Is Israel making Jews into slaves? GOP guy: well, we're America, we should be different. (thereby admitting his argument was a sham)

That's more of a direct comparison than an analogy. Comparing things is still good.

actually, it's an analogy, since it has logical structure. (having welfare => slavery) && (Israel has welfare) => Israel has slavery Israel doesn't have slavery => (having welfare =/> slavery) an example of a comparison would be grading two things on different criteria.
