I don’t get all the “American people” rhetoric from Trump defenders. He lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million. 70% of the country doesn’t like him. He’s never passed 50% approval. I support the electoral college. But I don’t see how “the people” are behind him.

Isn't it true that if you subtract California, Trump won the popular vote? And he didn't put any real work into California. I also doubt 70% dislike his results on the big issues.
