Yeah that’s sort of true, but it feels more like an ideological position. And to be fair, there is certainly an ideological mirrored position on the left. In Australia it doesn’t stack up commercially without a significant carbon price, which is political suicide

I'd be happy to see them put $15-20b/yr into fusion. Hard bottleneck of fusion right now is wait time between successive experiments at any given test plant. With the money we could set up more experiments and learn about containment techniques faster and find AI applications.
