In this case, yes. Public figures are public figures. I've never seen a case that distinguishes a public figure who also has a "brand", but I'm happy to read up if you have a citation on this. You really need to search for

It's virtually impossible to win a defamation case even in the best of circumstances. Suing over obvious insulting hyperbole is plain goofy, despite the current epidemic going around. Also, counterproductive. See "Streisand-Mignogna Effect"
