It isn't that a partially effective solution is bad, it's that the consequences of the solution, (like you pointed out in your video, gun taxes giving power to companies to influence gun ownership) may be costlier than the solutions are worth.

The number is a red herring. The meat of the argument is whether or not partial solutions should be enacted, even if they're partial, but the correct way to disagree with that is to highlight that partial solutions create new problems that must be considered.

True, but there are multiple negative consequences to gun restrictions that aren't often considered that make them not worth it, and much worse in same cases.
