What about them? Could be grandfathered in or could be insured. You don't need to solve every problem to solve some problems, or add some friction. I worry most about the guy who just got a gun.

No, it's just that the insurance thing affects innocent people's ability to protect themselves based on their ability to pay. The poor have constitutional rights too.

I don't see how you'd be subsidizing guns. Insurance would put an extra burden on innocent people, especially the poor.

Insurance spreads risk by design. That's the point. Everyone who buys car insurance and DOESN'T crash loses. Every time.
