That is literally his argument. He has tweets definitively saying it. He doesn’t even see how adults who have just a cursory knowledge of rights and liberties find that an impossibly ignorant take. I’ve followed this idiot for months. Now I’m feeling stupid. It’s brain cancer.

You finally made an actual point! Progress! It’s a bad point though because no one has a right to CHEAP guns. You can’t invent rights. It sucks to be poor for literally everything, not this one thing.

Rights are never invented. They are only recognized

That’s not what is happening at all. Humans get rights by their very existence. Some collections of them define geographic boundaries and protections within, but rights were never created.

That’s magical thinking. Your “rights” are what you can get away with.

Governments that infringe upon natural rights are illegitimate. These people were revolutionaries. That's the point of the "magical thinking" they viewed framing such as yours dangerous to the preservation of natural rights.

This is why Christianity is so important. Our Founders knew this. "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." - John Adams

There you have it. Scott believes people do not have any natural rights. Whatever the government gives you and whatever you can get away with is the standard of morality and the law.
