Thought experiment: If NEW gun purchases with high capacity clips required insurance, the way autos do, would that effectively price most young males out of the market because of risk? We'd still have plenty of weapons, but mostly owned by the safest demographics. Discuss.

Having an untrustable Government using Taxation or Forced Commerce to determine who does and does not get to exercise Constitutional Rights not only sounds like something I couldn't get behind, but one could easily argue short-circuits 2A protections from a corrupt government.

firearms insurance already exists. It’s $10/mo in my state, I think- unlikely to price anyone out of the market.
