This is a good point that I always intend to make. There probably are circumstances where this is true. I wonder about how much. Even parents of questionable quality probably still have a big impact on their child compared with strangers though. Interesting question.

I forget exactly but way back when 60 minutes did a budget with a poor, white, both working parents family. They broke down the budget and said if the wife quit her job and was a stay at home mom....they'd be ahead at least $50 a month vs both working.

and the quality of one's income. apparently Stef and his readers don't get that all income brackets are not created equal and some people actually do need to have 2 parents working in todays economy.
