Letting the NRA determine gun laws is as good a system as letting immigrants decide our immigration policies and Facebook deciding who becomes president. We do all three. How about our government does some fucking work for a change.
Do you generally prefer private industry making decisions instead of elected representatives, or only on this topic? NRA is mostly funded by gun makers.

Not that this is how it should be, but this is literally how government has worked for decades. Healthcare law - written by healthcare companies Financial law - written by financial companies Widget law - written by widget companies

In general, I am in favor of far fewer laws and regs. Many voices at the table involved in laws that impact us is how it should be. Lobbiests and PACs are an extension of the people's interests, like it or not. 1/

I prefer multiple voices at the table. NRA, gun makers, Handgun Control, Inc., all represent different viewpoints of the people those elected are supposed to represent. What I don't prefer is bureaucrats and lawyers writing legislation and regulation in a vacuum.

Good article. "Interesting" how they juxtaposed it with a video of Amanda Getchell.

Scott, I took a dive into the data - see my deconstruction w pie chart above BL - 72.4% of NRA comes from individuals, not Corps/Gun makers
