Cumming keeps talking about the border with Mexico. Trump is pointing out Cummings might actual be better of focusing on something in his district. They got $18B in 2018, perhaps they could devote some to picking up garbage, then demolishing abandon buildings.

The question works in reverse as well: why are local politicians injecting themselves into federal laws & concerns by designating themselves sanctuary cities and not cooperating with federal agents?

To use your euphemism, @realDonaldTrump has it right directionally. I think he saw the opportunity to dive into an issue he wanted to raise (crappy dem govt of cities), and Cummings gave him the opening. Now all the usual lemmings are predictably playing right into his hands.

Because when one level of government fails to live up to doing their job, the next level up steps in and takes over. Just like, when the local law enforcement fails to control a situation, the FEDs, or perhaps the National Guard, takes over to restores order.

According to Brian Cates of the Epoch Times it is mostly related to the criminal investigation of use of Federal Funds!

What happened to all the money the federal government has spent on that city and others? It should definitely be overseen by our leaders.
