I think you will find I am no fan of Trump. And yes I would argue it was a dog whistle. And yet that is no excuse for misquoting or quoting without the full statement.

I think TDS does a better job of describing what we all observe. Conservatives wonder why only anti-Trumpers hear that whistle. (I'm not a conservative.)

I don't think TDS is a very helpful term at all. It allows people who are pro-Trump to tune out legitimate concerns and criticisms.

In general, I think it is useful to accurately diagnose problems. And media-induced TDS is clearly a primary problem here. But I also call out hysteria on the right. It doesn’t have a name.
