MMA events don't occur in public places like street corners? Do MMA fighters have the right to assemble and fight on any random street corner in Portland whenever they want?

What if the KKK classified themselves as a sporting club? Then if a PoC gets his ass beat by a group of kkk thugs, it's his problem 4 being there, and he ought to just learn 2 stay away from the kkk sporting events on the Portland Street corner?

I didn't suggest you are proposing a change in law. I know that you're not suggesting that. You're saying that the way we view Antifa street violence should change because Antifa members thing it is Sport. My argument: It's irrelevant they think it's sport. It means nothing...

How Antifa views their own actions has absolutely no bearing on how the public at large ought to view it. If a bunch of teenagers view midnight mailbox smashing as Sport, do we all of a sudden NOT view it as vandalism?

Y r u changing your view of Antifa just bcause Antifa members consider it sport? Who cares if they consider it sport? Y do u care? U wouldn't care if a bunch of mailbox smashing teenagers in ur neighborhood considered it sport, would u? You'd still c it as vandalism, right?

I still want them jailed. But understanding it as sport not politics tells you what you are dealing with.

I would like to see groups like the Proud Boys (if they're not also NEEDING a violent outlet) plan, organize, publicize their event and then not show up. If, as you say, Antifa comes for the violence, they'll have to have it among themselves.
