Ask anyone who’s been in combat how often they selected full auto on their rifle. My guess is almost never. Aiming a rifle during a burst of auto fire is challenging. If gun laws “worked”banning semi autos would be far more sensible.https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1137780476255428608 …

What was the Las Vegas shooter doing?

If you’re ever in an active shooter situation, you should he has full auto. He’ll end up shooting holes in the ceiling and have to change mags giving time for people to charge him. Case in pt: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Hollywood_shootout … 2000 rds full auto & killed nobody but the 2 criminals.

Full auto weapons typically empty out in ~3 secs. That's terrible for accuracy, and doesn't give time to aim at a lot of targets before needing to reload. This isn't to mention the mechanical issues prevalent w/full auto. There's be no advantage over semi, in almost any scenario

Full auto proved to be so bad in Viet Nam that the new military rifles only shoot semi auto or in a burst of three.

In combat it is useful to have ammunition left for the unexpected opposition returning fire, it's better not to be hunting for a full magazine then as they will have a rather vindictive attitude
