As long as they are doing what stockholders expect of them, and it is legal, and public, you can't condemn the system, only the outcome.
Yeah but they're protected from certain laws by claiming to be a platform and not publisher. If they interfere this much with the content they're essentially becoming a publisher (meaning they can be sued for content)
What do conservatives want, to turn it into a public utility? As far as i know, its still an ad driven model that should cater towards the content that maximizes ad revenue across the platform.
