Sports parenting is a skill-set and depending on the sport, can be very tricky. What you did was smart, and I've tried to check myself and have even studied up on how to be a better sports parent.

Fair enough... Agree on these: -Not good for all -Bully parents are the worst Conversely, I think it builds human contact and teamwork skills kids in the iGen desperarely need. (Even if they're not stars, learning to contribute is a skill too.)

Sports worked for your kids. It doesn’t for many. The point is children should be encouraged to go where their desires, passions, skills, and talent are. Where they are best positioned to win. Could be sports... or music, art, reading, etc. Sports is the default. Why?

I think what he may be talking about on some level is how awful parents can be as "sports parents." We (sports parents) have to work very hard not to ruin it for them... and to approach it correctly and many don't. My gues is the "pressure" he speaks of is that...
