The united states is still working despite its over centralized pro-monopoly policies not because of it. In fact it is increasingly being dragged down because of those policies. Countries that score high on the economic Freedom index are the most successful.

social welfare programs such as Medicare,veterans hospitals,soc. Sec. etc.. are in trouble. Socialsm can exist if there is a source of money for it. the US has much wealth from free markets to draw on.Venezuela didn’t have enough free market structure to bail it out.
