Interesting perspective: Pascal's climate wager dictates that if are #climate #alarmist, you should also be #progun. Conversely, does the number of conservative pro-gun supporters substantiate catastrophic climate change, i.e. "watch what I do, not what I say", @ScottAdamsSays?

Not claiming causation from the correlation, speculating if the correlation is exposing an underlying conviction? If an oil executive believed catastrophic climate change was likely unavoidable, wouldn't they lobby pro-oil to extract maximum profit while buying guns to survive?

Also, many "gun control" supporters only want to control Other People's Guns. They're perfectly happy keeping their own.

That's not what I said; I'm postulating whether being pro-gun could be a proxy for an underlying belief in climate change, which would make pro-gun people out as more rational than I had previously considered, esp. if they turn out to be climate alarmists.
-
If true, this would seem to imply that an effective marketing strategy for gun manufacturers would be to fund ominous climate studies, since this would result in the sale of more guns.

I'll bet the survivors of hurricane Andrew were happy they had their guns! No police, national guard, communications - I'd feel safer having an AR 15 with a couple of 30 round clips.

Internalizing externalities only works if you have private property to lose, e.g. polluting the river you own / can sell. Companies happily pollute state-owned (or shared) assets. Socialism is not compelling for solving climate change.

I don't think he understands Pascal's Wager

Why do you think that?
