I’m on FB and Twitter. I can’t see anybody’s posts unless I “follow” them. If I don’t like what they say, I just unfollow them. What am I missing about why we can’t just let everyone say what they want if we can just choose to unfollow. I miss James Woods.

Not quite. You also see things your followed people retweet and things you are tagged in.

Transparency only matters if most people are both looking and caring. The easy solution is personal settings. Don’t ban people. Lock them behind walls that can be toggled on and off. Things like nudity behind one that’s on by default. Things like ‘hate’ behind one off by default

Continued... Perhaps it just move the question of “Who decides what?” around. But at least, worst case scenario, it’s still a step up from banning, and people can decide what they want to see on social media rather than the ‘most intelligent people’ deciding for them.
