Mann intentionally omitted inconvenient, if not hypothesis-killing data... so "trick" and "hide" therefore have "innocent" meanings? Come on...https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1121043136573132801 …

You imagine that. It isn't in evidence. It's a reading comprehension problem. You assume the wrong context for the emails. The words "trick" and "hide" have innocent meanings in the original context.

Is this the part where you say he omitted things he explains in public all the time? Such as why the tree rings stopped working in 1960?

What do you mean 'stopped working'? Do you mean 'stopped supporting the hokey stick'? Scientists are not supposed to just glibly write-off conflicting data as erroneous. That's what progressives do... which Mann is.

Neal King: "Why would you believe the tree-ring proxies at earlier times when you KNOW they didn't work properly in the 1990's?" That's a very good question. https://judithcurry.com/2015/08/13/mark-steyns-new-book-on-michael-mann/ …pic.twitter.com/woZhiD7zGi

Because they match other proxies until 1960. Why am I the one explaining this?

It may help to review the invention of the radiocarbon dating technique. Willard Libby was determined to get a Nobel for his invention - which he did. But, one thing stood in the way: He needed to demonstrate that the same C14 concentration exists in all parts of the biosphere.

Today, we know - definitively - that Libby's assertion is absolutely incorrect: https://cdiac.ess-dive.lbl.gov/epubs/ndp/ndp057a/ndp057a.htm …pic.twitter.com/GwFRCcaEH4

You should quit trying to explain something you clearly don't understand yet. The proxies are a mess...That is the point. Other proxies do not match unless you cherry pick. Of course Mann thinks that's just fine. Again that's the point

I think you’re wrong here. Either a theory works all the time or it’s disproven. How can you say it “stops working” and still think it’s valid?

Warming... Cooling... I’m just not sure. But when I get home today, I’m going to chop down a tree, check the tree rings, and if it’s warm enough I’m doing a massive cannonball into the pool!
