Bill Gray was a whistle blower. It cost him millions of dollars in lost research grants. Same with David Legates. Anyone who would step forwards would be destroyed.

Scott, I doubt the average scientist thinks like you. You have an entrepreneurial spirit. Most scientists are introverts who just want to do their work & get positive recognition for it. So the thought of bucking their clickish worldwide community has to be horribly intimidating.

Now this is serious business, Mr. Adams. BEWARE. Real risk involved in whistleblowing. BTW, some of gov't & "non-governmental" agencies set up to defend them are in fact honeypots, as are some "independent news" orgs. BTW, some "whistleblowers" themselves decoys.
