I don´t understand, why your perspective on wind and solar is still "neutral". Have a look to my country and make up your mind. A whole lot of wind and solar, not one conventional power plant replaced, co2 emissions increased, the highest electricity prices in the world...

I don't favor uneconomical solutions for anything. But the "cost" of wind and solar can't be calculated without knowing if it reduced climate risks in some measurable way.

I WAS concerned about green energy & climate change. Until I started reading you &

The only reason nuclear fission is even in the ballpark (cost-effectiveness-wise) is due to government subsidies (and directly funded R&D).

Notice how this evolved from the "carbon fuels are diminishing" therefore we must turn to other sources....but since we have found enormous reservoirs of carbon fuels it is now turned to we need fuels "that don't create climate damage"...see how they did that??

Yes, same solution no matter the problem. Hmm.

We're lied to about climate change and nuclear safety. The movies showing how everything died within hundreds of miles of Chernobyl and what might happen 1-1/2 years later when Japanese radiation gets to California via tides cannot now just be dismissed. They honestly didn't know

The Science and Environmental Policy Project’s The Week That Was highlights the critical importance of clouds, and our utter ignorance of how they work:https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/04/we-really-dont-know-clouds-at-all.php …

Actually, it repeats some of the usual arm-waving "refutations" of Swanson's "Law" uncritically. Exponential cost declines and deployment growth do NOT depend on the specific factors involved in Moore's "Law". 1/5

Making solar PV cheaper can be done by making the actual layer that requires ultra-pure silicon thinner. Or by making the ultra-purification of silicon cheaper, or both. Similar logic applies to batteries. But new battery tech isn't needed for the "solar revolution"... 2/5
