At what point does a long range weather forecast become a climate forecast?
-
At no point. As Scott said, different domains.

Makes a good EXPLANATORY analogy, though. Weather is just as "chaotically" sensitive to changes in STARTING conditions as climate is to changes in BOUNDARY conditions. Not just CO2 (GHG's), though even there the shape of the rise curve could make a big difference.

Nobody seems able to answer my original question. Maybe climate forecasts would be more accurate (and credible) if someone actually addressed the issue of long range weather forecast vs climate forecasts.
@CliffMass would have a good answer but he isn't very active on Twitter. - Show replies
