Do you think we are disagree about that?

I guess my point is that sometimes the desire to 'win' an argument is the real goal because the argument represents identity. At that point, truth becomes secondary. The whole socialism thing just happens to be correlative with some people who believe in CC.

Casting climate change as an imminent danger is an excellent vehicle for gaining control, regardless of how true or false the data is. They continually say more government is the only solution, which we know to be false. Assuming they know this, evil replaces incompetence.

Even when they're willing to let the problem go unsolved rather than see it solved with a solution they DON'T prefer? Such as Naomi Oreskes(https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/dec/16/new-form-climate-denialism-dont-celebrate-yet-cop-21 …), who pretends to be a scientist? Discussed here: https://bigthink.com/risk-reason-and-reality/is-naomi-oreskes-using-the-same-merchant-of-doubt-tactics-she-criticizes … see pic.pic.twitter.com/0C1XA9pPPJ

The whole topic of CC is just too political to be credible. Nobody knows what is actually happening because climate models have no skill. We can't even make accurate long range weather predictions. Testing the global climate is impossible. Perfect recipe for cognitive dissonance.

I think assuming someone's hidden motivations puts us in a position ripe for cofirmation bias. Best to use the socratic method to shine light on any potential hidden motivations.

Socialism is the ultimate power grab, of the government over the individual.
