There are 2 ways to facilitate transition: make prices lower with incentives, credits, etc .. or using the market: innovation, economy of scale, etc .. Turns out the first leads to the second, which is why incentives can be scaled back over time.

Giving a rebate or credit to the "poor" so that they can afford to replace their old ICE car for a cheap enough EV car is not exactly what i would call "wealth redistribution", am I missing something though?

Where does the money come from to provide the rebate or credit come from, the money tree in the back yard?

Boy did I trigger everyone? I think the word 'tax' did it. One has to accept the idea that there is a costly problem in the first place. I guess I am going to have to post all the links to how the poor today and the future will be affected by AGW adversely.

Hey Robyn Hood admit it , the only place addition funds could come from to give rebates and incentives to support the AGW agenda , sorry I meant to buy EV cars and rebuild their homes , is to create new avenues of revenue namely carbon taxes ,

Avenue of revenue is not the goal, that would self defeating ... because the goal is to be carbon free therefore zeroing the revenue.

No you are naive, the goal is not to be carbon free , because those in power know damn well it could never happen, the goal is to create enough hysteria that the public demands carbon taxes on the fossil fuel producers, and no avenue of revenue In history has ever been shut down

Scott is simply arguing that there it's no "man behind the curtin." No man behind the curtin doesn't mean there isn't a horde of political opportunists.
