Why can't #science tell me which one of the different models is the good one, so we can ignore the less-good ones? @ScottAdamsSays

That is a ludicrous statement that has zero merit unless of course it is propaganda for forces that benefit financially from polluting.

This is the main problem with AGW theory. It is a hypothesis built on flawed models. The models are flawed because they rely on unsupported flawed assumptions. There appears to be no empirical evidence to support AGW.

It is very difficult for people to get past their cognitive bias on an issue like global warming. This includes those who develop models, choose which data sets to use, etc. A non-predictive model is built on flawed reasoning and bad data. Yet, it’s defenders blindly defend it.

If the measured results are not in line with predictions, fix the model! Stop trying to fudge data. When we see all the shenanigans going on and understand the $B’s of dollars in government grants, funding and potential industrial/commercial wins, we are right to be skeptical.

There are going to be a lot of winners and losers based on the outcome. I think everyone can agree to less pollution, cleaner energy. Creating artificial barriers like a carbon tax/exchange, is simply another slick way to effect wealth transfer.

Fascinating how the climate science debate is exposing society's complete lack of understanding. MDS's question represents the public's mystic conception of science that doesn't realize that most scientists are not that smart and there is no easy answer to chaotic systems.

The man who designed the modern scientific method, Francis Bacon, is very clear that his design doesn't require what we call scientists to be very smart. It's the theoreticians - or what used to be called natural philosophers - that need to be smart. Data collectors? Not so much.
