Legacy Nuclear with all of its problems is the safest form of energy currently. Wind power kills 14 people a year in the UK alone. GEN IV Nuclear would be even safer than legacy Nuclear.

I was working with U.S. Forces Japan supporting recovery efforts, and the only radiation injury from Fukushima was a worker who inadvertently stood in a pool of leaked coolant and received beta burns to his lower legs. Yes, it was serious, but not the danger portrayed by media.

Fukushima was actually an engineering screwup. On the coast in an area where a Tsunami is a near inevitability. Don't put in safeguards on the pumps from the cooling ponds so they don't rev to oblivion. It would have prevented a lot of contam. New reactors tho are very very safe.
