Now Putin is using RT to sow discord in the United States by providing accurate news. Can CNN prevent Russia from accidentally making the 2020 election fair? https://twitter.com/StephenInKanata/status/1110243047743184899 …

I avoid RT or Breitbart as a reliable source of info. Could be true, but never sure. They cover the French yellow-vest riots, though. I just don't trust them.pic.twitter.com/Idi1PC8AEL

Did Breitbart report the "fine people" hoax? They fixed it. Did they report the Russian Collusion hoax as real? No. And they are the only news outlet with an expert on the border situation. Complaints about Breitbart are dated.

Why would a newspaper which generally supports Trump print myths about him (collusion, etc.)? OK, so I looked at one of NewsGuard's examples of bad reporting and verified that it is still on the Breitbart site. So it seems not to correct bad journalism: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2016/06/14/hillary-clinton-received-secret-memo-stating-obama-admin-support-for-isis/ …

There are many more examples that NewsGuard presents about bad reporting on Breitbart. And if they are still are on the site, I would call that a very questionable site, even if they may get the facts right occasionally. But I as a reader would have a hard time knowing when.

All the major news sites keep fake news on their sites even after it is pointed out to them. You have to make the case that Breitbart has more of it or a worse kind to have a point.

You can find more examples of why NewsGuard rates the way they do by linking to any web news source and clicking on its "Full Nutrition Label" link. It will explain all the examples of why they have lower ratings for certain sites. So far they seem to be right.

Maybe I have to open a series of quests on my system to compare the veracity of various news outlets. That would be fun. I don't mind the occasional inaccuracy if the new source will remove or correct the misinformation.

NewsGuard is actually overly generous on its ratings (compared with Media/Bias). If you fail, you really deserve it.
