It was warmer for sure. Here is an in-depth study on the warming period. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/wcc.522 …
Scott, since you've been trying to figure this stuff out (to your credit) do you have an interim opinion on what the hell is going on with the earth's climate and how much of it is man made (if any)?
That same graph shows that temperature decreased sharply in 2017 and 2018 and this year has seen some of the coldest January, February and March ever record. So CO2 has no correlation to CO2. Its NASA/NOAA own data that shows decreased temperature for three years now.
because World =/= USA
The US is the only large area with a credible long-term temperature record. ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/ghcn/daily/figures/station-counts-1891-1920-temp.pngpic.twitter.com/fSvF2802uh
It is Solar Output. CO2 is NOT an artificial thing like CFC's and the ozone. It's never going to be toxic or disruptive enough to "End The World". Sunspots are so low it's record breaking. Debate is it could be from 3 to 20 years until it changes. No one knows. Admit that too.
Admitting you don't know all the answers is the key to showing robust debate and scientific method. The "Solar Minimum" is a theory. It is not a edict from the Holy Mountain, like "Climate Change". A planet this large no model exists to explain it yet. Not possible yet. Ok?
It tracks the official temperature records from a few years ago, like HadCrut3 - before the latest round of data tampering by government agencies.
There are no "official temperatures". That's BAD SCIENCE
