Am I reading this correctly, that right-wing extremist murders dropped sharply under Trump? Murder and Extremism in the United States in 2018 https://www.adl.org/murder-and-extremism-2018 … via @ADL

Exactly which data say the opposite? 50 extremist murders in 2018. 49 right-wing (1 islamist), i.e. 98% And 50 is the third highest figure in the past twenty years (2016: 72, 2015: 70). "Not a lot" when comparing to thousands of homicides per year in the US.pic.twitter.com/jgJZ9OQwgG

Does the data represent number killed or number of separate crimes? I think that's where the discrepancy lies.
-
Numbers killed. Most relevant for the family's and communities affected. Then again: Number of separate crimes is of course significantly lower.

The data does not support that there has been an overall increase of extremist attacks "during Trump".

They have the Parkland shooter as a right-wing extremist.

It’s “only 50”. But killings like
#parkland with several victims have a higher media impact than “normal” murder of your wife or neighbor or an accidental killing during your regular robbery afternoon (that account for like 20-40 deaths each day in the US).

So page 10 of the report says extremist murders dropped, but the percentage in earlier years was lower from right wing. So fewer murders, but more from extreme right now, instead of other sources that have reduced. E.g terror: Orlando was one. Ditto San Bernardino
