I think this is a rare case where he got ahead of himself and voiced some hasty notions, which is no crime. Scott's created a great platform and forum to discuss controversial issues like this and I hope he continues an interest in this. Few people with his profile will risk it.

Incorrect. My opinion is completely defensible. My critics are arguing the wrong point, repeating endlessly that the transgender female athlete usually has an unfair advantage, which is not in dispute.

Yes, okay...the transgender female (formerly male) athlete usually has an unfair advantage over female athletes, not disputed. And I believe you say that this is no different than the type of advantage LeBron say, has over his typical adversaries, so what's the problem? Correct?

Okay, got it...good! However, I think it's an error (qual and quantitatively) to equate the difference between LeBron and his average competitor to that between a trans-female and her average competitor. For various reasons, the differences between the latter are FAR larger...so

I think the bottom line is that there must be a limit to "unfair advantage" in sports - which is why in fighting sports there are weight classes, or why doping is illegal. As far as i can see Scott believes those limits stretches farther than most people would like to.

Shaq was on someone’s high school team. It is normal to have extreme talent differences in the same league.

Ok I think I’ve figured out the issue The problem is the SOURCE of the advantage Shaq has “natural” advantages (he didn’t choose his biology makeup) Transgender athletes have “unnatural” advantages - they have decided to become female same way somebody decide to take doping

In both examples the advantage is genetic. Same thing.

The difference between men and women is also genetic, so once again, why not abolish women's sports entirely? Women's sports is built on the concept of excluding people with a genetic advantage (in this case male biology).

For many reasons but I'll mention one...the sustainable audience for such competitions does not exist and wouldn't be able to be cultivated.
