Even if the cause itself was tainted by the immorality of slavery, doesn’t the courage shown by troops defending their nation against insurmountable odds deserve some memoralization? Same could be said for German troops defending vs the Soviets in 1945z

and there are giant statues of Mao... and probably some of former NK leaders... Iraqis took down statue of Saadam, Russian's took down hundreds of early Communists... make a rational point not just a statue strawman.
