That "road less travelled" of yours is called "the path of least resistance", and it is very well-traveled. It is paved, well maintained and has a nice garden path... because the people invested in the status quo want you to enjoy your journey.

I don't think you got the Robert Frost reference here...

I do. But if you read the poem, you also know that what the "road less traveled" signifies is ambiguous. Yes, it has "made all the difference", but that does not mean it did not lead to failure, or even disaster.

The road less traveled represents the more difficult path. Or going against the current, to paraphrase you. And no the poem doesn't mention if it was ultimately a bad choice, but Frost seemed happy with it none the less.

1) Really? Does the poem actually say that the traveller wound up happy? it does not. It says that the less traveled path changed his life. For better or for worse is for you to decide.

2) Your "road less travelled" is the path against the climate change consensus, I gather... the path towards doing nothing. I don't think that path is as untrammeled as you think. I think your path is actually a four-lane highway.

I'm not sure why this is relevant, or even matters to you...

1) What I am trying to say is: the road to adventure is the one that requires the hard work. There is no hard work involved in going along with the status quo, which is against making any changes to our energy model that would disrupt the fossil fuel industry.

2) Have you noticed that America lacks any sense of mission, any reason that justifies our "greatness" except the size of our army? Taking the lead on facing up to Climate Change could BE that mission.

3) Scott talks about moonshots and Manhattan projects... but there first has to be a sense of urgency to justify those projects. And that's where he fails: by neutering any sense that these are things that OUGHT to be done.
