@ScottAdamsSays Saw your periscope. At 14:19 you say if you’re arguing Venezuela … you’re not in the conversation because nobody in the US is suggesting we become a dictatorship, nationalize our biggest business and institute massive corruption, and nobody is suggesting that.

First, I’d like to point out that the Dems are saying they want to nationalize healthcare, and the GND does in fact eliminate some of our biggest businesses – the auto industry, the air travel industry, oil and gas industries, and no doubt others, but you get the picture.

Second, the problem with your statement is that you are talking about the end result of Venezuela while those that say “Venezuela” are talking about what led to the dictatorship and economic collapse of Venezuela - Hugo Chávez was not appointed dictator.

Chávez was duly elected President of Venezuela based on the platform of “economic independence, equitable distribution of revenues, and an end to political corruption,” (pulled from Wikipedia), all of which are reflected in the Democrat part of the US today:

Economic Independence – Being paid even if you don’t want to work, free healthcare, free education Equitable Distribution of Revenues – $15 minimum wage, tax the richest at 70%, nobody needs more than 10 million dollars An end to Political Corruption – Russia collusion, <cont>

Super PACs, a “multimillion dollar operation to have bot accounts manipulate online discourse” These are all the same promises and fears Hugo Chávez talked about, just in Americanized form.

This is what I, and I believe others, are thinking of when we say the Dems want “Venezuela” – the Dems don’t say they want what Venezuela is now, but they do want the same policies and spending that got Venezuela to where it is, and it will destroy our economy just as equally.

Seems an irrational fear unless someone is suggesting nationalizing industry.

I don't think they would directly nationalize industry as that's a dirty word. Instead, based on past experience and current talk, they would regulate industries to the point that they / the gov effectively control them - a more democratic appearing means to the same end.

Consider- I believe because of aggressive environmental driven regulations the econ recovery under dems was stagnant. Trump cut many of those regulations and the econ boomed. Even as Trump cut them, the Dems were talking of restoring them and continue to do so.

Isn't that the whole idea behind single payer though? Its nationalizing the healthcare industry. The over burdensome regulation that would come with a #GreenNewDeal would also be close to nationalization with the amount of control that would be put in place.
