It's a flawed analogy when #ClimateChange proponents say skeptics are the equivalent of 'Flat Earthers.' Back in the day, the scientific consensus concluded that the earth WAS flat. It was the SKEPTICS who believed the earth was round. By golly, they were right. @ScottAdamsSays

There is obviously much, MUCH more money in maintaining the status quo, so that argument falls apart quickly. And "confirmation bias" is a little too much of a go-to to take seriously. Problems that aren't real don't tend to pick up steam over the course of two generations.

I believe Mr. Adams was partly referring to the amount of money available for scientific grants, thus creating a motive to scientifically lean toward one direction.
